Adapta Summit

About the project

Visual identity for Adapta Summit, held in July 2024 at Expo São Paulo, with a concept that comes from biology.

Adaptation

Traits that evolve

Adaptations are traits that evolve through natural selection, allowing organisms to survive, reproduce and thrive in their environments.

Hence the event’s signature: thrive on change.

Concept

Three kinds of adaptation

In nature, adaptation happens in three ways. Morphological, in the shape and structure of the body, like the beaks of the finches Darwin studied. Physiological, in internal processes, like camels, which regulate their temperature and save water in the desert. And behavioral, in habits, like sea turtles, which return to the beach where they hatched to lay their eggs.

Then there is coadaptation: different species evolving together in a mutually beneficial relationship, like bees and flowers.

Symbol

Three triangles form a fourth

The symbiotic union of two triangles, split into three parts, like the three forms of biological adaptation. Together, the three triangles form a fourth, even larger one: the subspecies that adapts and stands the test of time.

Logotype

Modern, sturdy and technical

The name gets a modern, sturdy and technical typographic design, sharing the space with the symbol in both the horizontal and the stacked signature.

Color palette

Inspired by marine life: the clownfish lives protected among the anemone’s tentacles and, in return, keeps it clean and oxygenated. A coadaptation turned into a palette.

Iconography

The same technical line

A family of thin-line icons, in the same technical style as the logotype, with the clownfish red as the accent.

Applications

From the stage to the streets

The identity spreads across the event and the city: screen and stage, billboards and posters, signage, badges, giveaways, apparel, stationery and digital.
